Chef Catering Level 2 & 3 Diploma (Professional Cookery)
I didn’t know what I wanted to do until Year 10 at secondary school. I had a really good teacher and she had convinced me to do catering and hospitality GCSE and I enjoyed it. She then put me forward to do the Junior Chefs Academy at UCB on Saturdays.
The Academy got me used to cooking in proper kitchens, like the ones you use as a student, so it’s a great experience.
There’s nothing else I want to do other than be a chef. I really enjoy the course and love the amount of practical work to written work as I am more of a practical learner.
You get good support from all the lecturers. If you do something wrong, they help you. In my opinion, there is nowhere better in England to train as a chef. You have the best facilities and the best lecturers.
Looking ahead, I am thinking of joining the RAF as a chef after college. I want to cook for VIPs.
