Food and Beverage Service Level 3 Diploma
I was unhappy doing AS levels and I can safely say enrolling at UCB was the best decision I made, the first step in a career path that has got me where I am today.
The best thing about doing a hospitality course at UCB is working in its very own bar and restaurants. I enjoyed learning hands-on skills, facing different situations and customer inquiries. I loved that every day was different. I bonded with everyone on my course and felt part of the team. I even got picked to be a part of a competition squad.
I am currently working for Andreas Antona at The Cross at Kenilworth. My title is Reservations, Admin and Marketing and my duties involve taking all the reservations and events. My role is integral to the organisation – take too many bookings at once and you’ll cause problems for front of house and the kitchen team. It involves careful planning and concentration.
My role involves being organised and communicating with the front and back-of-house teams. I enjoy working closely with Adam Bennett, our head chef, and Giuseppe Longobardi, our restaurant manager. I love the challenge – every day is different and I am continuing to learn and expand my knowledge in the hospitality industry.
I would always advise students to take a Food and Beverage course at UCB as it is the perfect start in the industry and can lead to many different career paths.
