Travel and Tourism BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma

I had previously studied Level 2 tourism and found it really interesting. I was recommended to come to UCB because of its good results and student satisfaction and reputation. The reason I got into travel and tourism is that I have always had a passion for new languages and new cultures. I am a bit of an explorer.

I am not a particularly academic person but in the travel and tourism lectures it all makes sense. I am studying something I really enjoy.

We have been on study visits to places like Cheddar Gorge, Weston-super-Mare, the Sea Life Centre and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery. The visits make the subject real. You get to find out about the wide variety of travel and tourism. Getting on a plane and going to Spain is just one aspect of it. I now appreciate how big the industry is. UCB opens your eyes and the lecturers have experience because a lot of them have worked abroad.

I am thinking about studying International Tourism Business Management at UCB and hope to become a holiday rep. After a few years, I will work my way up the ladder to head office. I want to progress and open my own business one day. I could be a specialist tour operator linked to Dark Tourism. There is a market there and it is not fully explored.
