Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Professional Cookery 

I juggled three part-time jobs while doing my Level 1 and 2 in Professional Food and Beverage Service and Level 1, 2 and 3 in Advanced Professional Cookery – and now I’m working full-time as a chef de rang at a Michelin-starred restaurant in Birmingham. When I left school, I had a list of ideas in my head of what I wanted to do with my life, and because of UCB I’ve already achieved everything on that list. I failed English four times at school, but after completing my Functional Skills qualification at UCB alongside my Diploma, I since achieved an A grade. My teacher, Gavin Cole, allowed students to learn in such a productive way and provided an incredible amount of help and support. He saw I was willing to learn and recognised my potential.
