Level 1 Introduction to Professional Cookery 

I think the two biggest things that have transformed about me since I started UCB are my confidence and my skills. I feel like a different student now I have reached the fourth year of my degree, and I think that’s down to the way you’re given so many opportunities to challenge yourself here alongside your studies. It makes you into a more rounded person, and without doubt a much better chef. Since starting my Level 1 Diploma as a complete beginner to cooking I have been a finalist at the British Culinary Federation’s Young Chef of the Year awards, won Best Dessert at the international Young Chef Olympiad in India and won a silver medal at Les Parades des Chefs, one of the most prestigious chef competitions in the country. At the moment I’m preparing for the Culinary World Cup as Vice-captain of the English Junior Team. I’d definitely say I’ve come a very long way since leaving school.
