Sport Development, Coaching and Fitness BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma
I had a really good experience at UCB due to the facilities available and the teaching which aided my studies. The staff are extremely helpful and provide guidance through various teaching methods and feedback. The facilities are incredible, such as the sports therapy rooms, sports hall, dance studios and gym facilities.
As part of my course I did a number of work experience placements including coaching with a basketball team and I also did one at a Muslim school called Al-Hijrah assisting with P.E lessons, essentially teaching my own group and gaining an insight into the career of a PE teacher. I was also selected to do a 3 week work experience in Cyprus as part of the Leonardo Da Vinci Programme. Whilst in Cyprus I worked at Fasouri Water Mania Water Park as a games guard and it is one of the best life experiences I have had to date.
The opportunities available to me were endless. I was able to excel in what I enjoyed, which bought the best out of me academically, helping me gain a triple Distinction award.
I was also a Student Ambassador which meant that I represented UCB at open days and other events. I was also a member of the basketball team.
I still have strong links with the University who have been helpful in giving me career advice and providing opportunities.
After my experiences at UCB, I would love to be able to help other people have the same opportunities I had. My ultimate, long term goal is to return to UCB as a lecturer.
