Food and Beverage Service Level 2 Diploma
I have always cooked since I was a child back home in Antigua. I joined the Food and Beverage Service course at UCB because I wanted to build on my skills and get to know more about the industry in Britain.
UCB has the best resources of anywhere. I plan to do the Level 3 or a modern apprenticeship at UCB
The course is brilliant. I love meeting new people and interacting with people. You get to learn so much. Food and beverage and the kitchen is my first love. I know I have so much potential.
The people we serve in UCB’s two restaurants give us really positive feedback and “tweet” about us. It is hard work, especially when you are the head of the table and you are in charge of one or two commis. You have to keep focused. It is a lot of brain work.
It is a big commitment but this course can take you a long way. It can take you to places you would think you would never end up. It feels really good being a mature student – I have got six children. I get on very well with the group and they say I am the mother of the group. I have never missed a day – and I am never late.
