Food and Beverage Service Level 3 Diploma

I started training as a chef at UCB but I moved to food and beverage because front of house looked fun. In Level 3, you learn how to organise a team and work out what it is like being in industry. You can appreciate the problems managers face and think about how you could do things differently.

I love the course because you get to be your own person and show your personality during service. You are not like a teenager doing a part-time job – it is a profession. I like the flair of the role and you can make good money from it. When you have a good service and make someone happy, it is really satisfying.

If you are bubbly and like socialising it is a perfect job. You get to travel the world and there are multiple opportunities, from a wine sommelier to a restaurant manager.

I plan to go into industry when I qualify and maybe go to university at a later date. I would definitely come back to UCB to uni. It is the best place for food and beverage in the country.
