Further Education Student Celebration Event

UCB will celebrate the achievements of all level 3 students who have successfully completed their course at a special event at Birmingham Town Hall on Tuesday 12 July. The event starts at 7pm and students and guests must be seated from 6.45pm. The event is expected to finish around 8pm.

Students are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the atmosphere and meet their lecturers informally. Light refreshments will be available from 5.30pm.

The annual event is a great opportunity for students to celebrate their success with their classmates and lecturers – and take photos with friends and family. Student tickets are free of charge and guest tickets (limited to two per student) are £5 each. Tickets will be available to purchase online from Friday 20 May or from Birmingham Town Hall Box Office. (Please note: there is a booking fee of £2.50 per ticket for those purchased online and £3 for post and counter bookings. If you require your tickets to be posted, there will be an additional charge of £1.50.)

Doors will open at 5.30pm, giving students a chance to chat to friends and academic staff, enjoy the refreshments and have their photograph taken by our official photographer. Professional photographs will be free to download from the UCB website following the event.

At 7pm, students will sit with their classmates as Alex Lofthouse, UCB’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Performance & Partnerships) calls individuals to the stage to congratulate them and have a commemorative photograph taken. Vice-Chancellor and Principal Prof Ray Linforth will also be on stage to congratulate students on their achievement.

The evening also sees the announcement of Student of the Year and Memorial Awards for outstanding effort and achievement in each academic school, including Apprenticeships and for English and maths. Unfortunately many of the qualification certificates will not be ready for collection on the evening, however certificates of attendance will be available to collect after the event.
