The Business and Professional Administration Higher Apprenticeship is designed to meet the needs of employers by attracting new talent into a career in business and administration and also to develop skills needed by the workforce to ensure opportunities for career progression. Businesses face a number of challenges, brought about by technological change, globalisation and skills shortages. This apprenticeship provides the opportunity for businesses to adapt to these challenges by ensuring that all business administrators gain the competence and skills to ensure that they can contribute to making businesses more efficient and productive.This higher apprenticeship is built around a flexible delivery in order to adapt to the needs of businesses across a variety of employment sectors.If you are organised and can multi-task, have competent IT skills and can use your own initiative, an apprenticeship is a great way to gain a qualification while you work.

Tasks undertaken by apprentices will depend on the sector in which they are employed and may include overseeing operational activities, implementing change within organisations, managing teams, monitoring risk and agreeing budgets.

Teaching and Assessment (NV)

Teaching and assessment

You will need to complete tasks and portfolios for assessment. A qualified tutor will examine the evidence which is then approved by the external verifier (appointed by the examining body) Personal learning and thinking skills and employment rights and responsibilities are embedded in the apprenticeship.

Entry requirements

Applicants should have 2-3 years’ experience of working in a business/administration role. If you have no experience in a business role, you will need to have gained a NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualifications.

What's next?

If you want to become an apprentice and do not have a job, UCB will work with you to find a suitable paid placement. If you are in work and want to take an apprenticeship qualification, we can advise you on what you need to do.
