Chocolate poppies are a sweet-toothed tribute to the nation's war heroes

Trainee bakers at UCB are helping to raise funds for war heroes – by making chocolate poppies.

The limited edition £1 lollies are on sale at the University’s Cakes & Bakes shop in Summer Row until next Wednesday, November 11. 50p per lolly will be donated to the Royal British Legion.

Made from white chocolate, coloured with red cocoa butter, the chocolate flowers and stand-alone poppy chocolates are being made by bakery apprentices Jess Dalton, 19, and Hannah Bradbury, 21 (pictured above with the lollies), and Kristian Hillis, 19.
