Syd wins BCF award
UCB staff member Syd Adkins Fouracre has been presented with the Ken Fraser Memorial Award by the British Culinary Foundation (BCF).
The BCF recognised some of the brightest chefs within the industry and their contributions over the last 12 months at a glittering awards evening at the St. John’s Hotel in Solihull.
The Ken Fraser Memorial Award is a special recognition of someone working within the industry who trains, mentors and encourages young chefs to progress within their chosen profession.
Syd is a Placement Tutor for FE catering and bakery programmes, but she also runs the Young Chefs and Junior Bakers Academies aimed at budding culinarians in years 10 and 11 who wish to get ahead in a competitive industry.
The award was presented to Syd by Nick Owen, newsreader on the BBC’s Midlands Today.
