UCB Lecturer sits in a bath of Baked Beans
Events Management degree lecturer, Leila Edwards has spent 4 hours in a bath of baked beans for charity. Leila is supporting Railway Children, an international charity which helps vulnerable children across the world who live on the streets.
Leila raised £500 for the charity helped by students, staff and visitors to the college who had the opportunity to buy cans of beans to tip over Leila as she sat in the bath. Plus, Events Management students ran a competition for people to guess how many cans of beans were in the bath.
Leila Edwards says:
“I watched a very moving film clip about young children in India who jump on and off moving trains to try and find scraps of food. Nasty accidents often happen which is heartbreaking so the charity works tirelessly to try and create a better life for the children. Sitting in a bath of beans is a crazy idea I know but it is a bit of fun and I raised lots of money for the charity."
