UCB National Student Survey Results 2011

In August 2011, the results for the annual National Student Survey again confirmed high levels of student satisfaction at UCB. The figure for overall satisfaction was up 1% on last year to 85%, against a sector mean of 83%.

The 22 questions of the survey are grouped into six categories –the teaching on my course, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management, learning resources and personal development and a question for overall satisfaction.

Student satisfaction was above the national mean figure in four of the six categories with 4 of the 5 questions for assessment and feedback in the top 25% of results. Satisfaction with personal development was also in the upper quartile of all results.

Our students said that UCB is very good at assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation and management and personal development.

Our students said that UCB could do better in some aspects of teaching and access to IT resources and specialised facilities.

Nigel Moss, Chairman of the College Corporation said:

All of us at UCB are very pleased with the results. The improvements in satisfaction from last year, with 19 of the 22 questions showing increased satisfaction reflect the efforts made by all staff at UCB in working with students to improve their experience and provide high quality programmes of study."
