Mathew is Craft Guild of Chefs 'Chef of the Year'

IMG1781Congratulations to Chef Lecturer, Mathew Shropshall who has been named as the 2011 Craft Guild of Chefs Competition Chef of the Year.

Mathew (pictured) joined talented chefs from across the UK at a glittering ceremony held at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel in London to receive his award.

During his career, Mathew has won a host of awards and competition titles and enjoys passing on his skills and enthusiasm as a mentor to student competition chefs.

“I am delighted to have won such a fantastic accolade,” said Mathew. “It’s great to have your efforts recognised, especially through something as well respected as The Craft Guild of Chefs Awards, and for me it is a huge honour.

The theme for the 2011 Craft Guild of Chefs Awards was ‘Bursting with Talent’, aiming to reward leading
chefs from across the industry, whether they work
in a village pub, fine dining restaurant, city university or in contract catering.
