UCB International Awards Celebration 2011

The achievements of one hundred and twenty six graduates from Hong Kong, China, Macau and Thailand has been recognised and celebrated at the University College Birmingham International Awards Celebration on Sunday 29 May at the JW Marriott, Hong Kong.

Watched by family and friends, the graduates were presented to officials from University College Birmingham who travelled from the UK to attend the event.

The graduates all studied degree or postgraduate qualifications in a range of subjects including tourism, hospitality, marketing, culinary arts, entertainment management and food and retail management, either at Caritas College in Wanchai or at University College Birmingham in England. 

The Awards Celebration was officially opened by Nigel Moss, Chairman of the University College Birmingham Corporation.  Honorary guest, Ronald Ho, Director of Finance, Hong Kong Sky City Marriott Hotel, was invited to address the Celebration.

Professor Ray Linforth, the Principal of University College Birmingham, who also officiated at the event, said:

“Our International Awards Celebration is always a very happy occasion and an important opportunity for us to formally congratulate our students on their impressive achievements. 
We have worked closely with Caritas for over 20 years and I am very pleased colleagues from there were able to join us to celebrate our students’ success.”
