Salon Business Management Students Showcase their Skills
Five Salon Business Management (Hairdressing) Foundation Degree students from University College Birmingham are celebrating after staging a successful fashion show to showcase their hairdressing skills.
Following ten weeks of preparation, the students created their 'Summer Craze, Spring Haze' show event which was held at the College’s Student Guild bar and attended by family and friends.
The event was organised as part of the Degree’s Creative Showcase module, allowing students to apply their creative and practical skills alongside management methods learnt throughout the programme.
The organisers of the show were students Hannah Massey, Liam Philpott, Nikki Brookes, Heena Mirza and Joel Hinchcliffe.
“It has been a great experience for all of us organising the show, teaching us time management and how to work effectively in a team – we have learnt so much. It was very exciting to show off our work to friends and family and we are very proud of what we have achieved” said student Hannah Massey.
Nikki Brydon, Salon Business Management lecturer said: “The students worked so hard and their vision for the event from the outset was extremely high. They have worked well within their team and have motivated each other to produce some fantastic work. The hairdressing showcase was excellent ”
