Prize Giving for FE Students

UCB-FE-AwardsSixteen further education students from University College Birmingham (UCB) are celebrating after winning awards for their dedication and achievement.

The students, who are on courses from NVQ to National Diploma level in a range of subjects, were presented with their awards at the annual Further Education Awards evening, held at the college and attended by the students’ family and friends and award sponsors.

Awards were given in the categories of Services to College, Work Placement of the Year, Student Endeavour and Academic Achievement. 

Prizes were sponsored by businesses including L’Oreal, H&B Foods, Dermalogica, the Worshipful Company of Bakers, Hotel du Vin, Early Years Ambassadors, EDI, Hays, The Albion Foundation, Marchella International, Grafton International, Action Self Drive and Russums.

The evening, organised by National Diploma Hospitality students, started with a drinks reception followed by dinner in the college’s Brasserie restaurant, led by NVQ chef and food service students.

Professor Ray Linforth, Principal, University College Birmingham said:

“ It is important to reward students for their endeavours, especially as it gives motivation for others. It was an excellent evening and congratulations go to the prize winning students.  We are very grateful to our business sponsors for their generous support too".
