Birmingham: A Student and Graduate Guide

Icon-Birmingham-LPlanetUniversity College Birmingham is one of the five higher education institutions in Birmingham to collaborate on a new and free iPhone app from Lonely Planet. Birmingham: a student and graduate guide follows on from the guide book ‘Birmingham: your life starts here’ launched by Visitbirmingham.com and Lonely Planet last year.

The guide encourages students and graduates to get to grips with the city they live and work in and explore Birmingham’s hidden gems. The app features everything from itineraries for ‘perfect Birmingham days’ for shopaholics, party animals, culture vultures and sports fans to facts and stats, student reviews and stunning images of Birmingham’s iconic cityscapes.

Gregg Johnson, UCB Student Guild President said:

“The new Lonely Planet app will be really popular with students because it provides a lot of information in a quick and flexible format. It gives a useful insight into life in Birmingham for current students, graduates and people potentially looking to study in the city.”

To celebrate the launch of the app, Visitbirmingham.com is offering avid Twitter fans the chance to win an ‘alternative VIP weekend’ in Birmingham, including a weekend stay at the ultra-stylish Staying Cool apartments in the iconic rotunda building and free passes to both Flatpack and Fierce festivals and meals at 4 different restaurants  celebrating the city’s independent arts and culture scene.
