Students Success at Cake International Show

Students on Bakery and Confectionery courses walked away with a host of medals and prizes after the Cake International Show at the NEC in Birmingham.  Held over 3 days the show showcases the best in cake decoration and sugarcraft, attracting visitors and participants from all over the UK and beyond.

UCB students displayed 19 cakes covering a variety of themes from traditional birthday  to seasonal and novelty cakes featuring The Incredible Hulk, Little Miss Muffet and The Teletubbies to name just a few.

Dawn Gemmell, Head of Bakery said " A brilliant result for UCB and a excellent showcase for our students to display their inspirational cakes, I was so pleased to see so many students collecting their awards from the International team.  Well Done to all, looking forward to the Salon Culinaire Competition January 2011"
