Taste of Birmingham
16 – 18 July 2010
Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham

Taste of Birmingham showcases the very best of the region's culinary talents and produce all in one place. Visitors can try signature dishes from Birmingham's finest restaurants, from fine dining to good old British fish and chips, as well as buying something yummy from the exhibitors to enjoy at home.

University College Birmingham is sponsoring the Regional Theatre which will host a full programme of culinary demonstrations, including sessions from three of the College's rising stars of the future and UCB chefs and bakers.

On Saturday in the Taste Theatre UCB will launching the Brum Bun – a delicious sweet bun drawing its inspiration from Cadburys and flavoured with chocolate and caramel. On Sunday, UCB will go head to head with Aubrey Allen in the Birmingham Banger 2010 Competition. Last year, UCB prevailed with a spicy yet fruity sausage with a flavour reflecting our great multi-cultural city. Can UCB make it two in a row or will Aubrey Allen prevail this year? The audience will decide.

Plus, we have a promotional stand in the marquee, where visitors can be the first to taste a new and exciting curry cooking sauce created by a local lady and further developed in partnership with UCB chefs. Children visiting the show will also be able to have a go at icing cup cakes on the stand on one day.

BusinessHub@UCB staff will be on hand to talk about support and facilities the College can offer to businesses, including food product development, market research, corporate event facilities, tailored training and the ever popular Chef's Masterclass and Dine day, run in partnership with Opus restaurant.
