Trevor Sorbie Meets Students
NVQ hairdressing students were delighted to welcome leading hairdresser, Trevor Sorbie MBE, when he visited the College last week.
Trevor travelled to Birmingham to host a training seminar as part of his new charity My New Hair, an independent national registered charity, set up to promote and enhance the provision of a quality service for people experiencing medical hair loss.
Twenty five professional hairdressers attended the session, which started off with Trevor Sorbie demonstrating technical cutting of wigs, modelled by two UCB hairdressing students.
During the lunch break, Kim Everton, Assistant Dean, School of Sports Therapy and Salon Management, took Trevor and Darren Stuart, of Tribeca Salons, on a tour of the Spa hairdressing salons in Richmond House.
“ We were delighted to welcome Trevor and his colleagues to UCB and show off our salons” said Kim. “He was impressed with the students and commented on how professional the salons were. It was a great boost for the students and the Hair and Beauty staff to see such a leading industry figure and we look forward to raising funds for My New Hair in the future. It is good to support a charity that is related to the industry we are in and our students will benefit from getting involved with various activities in the future”.
