Students provide a helping hand
The inaugural Birmingham EDF half marathon saw over 50 Sports Therapy students from University College Birmingham on hand offering massages to the 9000 runners who completed the event.
Sports Therapy Lecturer Rob Di Leva co-ordinated the students at the end of the course in Centenary Square who between them they gave around 600 massage treatments.
Rob said "What a great day we had. The students from years 1, 2 and 3 were very well received and did themselves, University College Birmingham and Sports Therapy proud."
As well as students giving treatments a number of staff ran in the half marathon, including lecturers Ian Lahart and Marie Woodward, and Schools Liaison Officer Ruth Walton.
