New students get a head start
Students joining Hair and Beauty Therapy courses for the next academic year have taken part in a four week Academy before their courses start in September.
Saturdays in February saw 40 students spend the morning in the hair and beauty therapy suites, sampling what their chosen courses will offer. The Academy also gave them the opportunity to meet and make friends with other students who they will study with in September.
At the end of the month each student received a certificate and photograph as a memento of their introduction to University College life.
The Academy is running again during April and is set to be repeated next year.
Organiser of the Academy and School Liaison Officer, Lisa Collins, felt that the students gain a huge amount from taking part "They were all really enthusiastic and already feel part of University College Birmingham and can’t wait to get started in September".
