The season of goodwill continues

Staff at University College Birmingham have raised the magnificent amount of £1709.56 for Acorns Children’s Hospice in Birmingham.

In the run up to Christmas, staff made donations to the hospice appeal instead of sending Christmas cards to colleagues. A raffle was also held at the annual staff party with prizes including a cookery course and lunch at Simpson’s restaurant in Birmingham, a local free range turkey and a chocolate filled hamper.

The fundraising culminated with a hotly contested auction for a meal for two, including wine, at Gordon Ramsay’s Hospital Road Restaurant.

The cheque was presented to Acorns Hospice Community Fundraiser, Sanjay Jagatia, by Chef Lecturer Leighton Anderson and Marketing Manager Jane Smith.
