Students strike out on a world of adventure

Ian, Adi, Rohan and Matt of Seek and Explore FijiThird Year BA Adventure Tourism Management students are this week setting out on the adventure of a lifetime as they undertake a 25 day expedition as part of their final year studies.

After a years preparation six groups will this week pack their rucksacks and head off overseas with destinations including Fiji, Ecuador, Tanzania and The Pyrenees on the agenda.

As part of the planning groups had to decide on a name for their expedition, these include Ecua-Librium, Explore Fiji and Solynieve at the Pyrenees project.

Clockwise from left Thomas, Charlotte, Oliver, Colin and Jane from Ecua-librium consult a map before their trip.Rohan Strong from Seek and Explore explained what his group would be doing during their time in Fiji "We are going to be involved in a community project on Yadua Island; helping in a local school teaching English, Maths and Sports as well as doing conservation work on Yadua and a neighbouring Island".

The groups will be keeping diaries of their adventures and sending back reports and pictures from their trips – we’ll be posting updates here as we hear from them.
