Congratulations Adam Daniels
Adam Daniels, a student chef from Birmingham College of Food has won the 2007 Gordon Ramsay College Scholarship competition.
In a tough cook off at the recent BBC Good Food Show, Adam beat off competition from seven other young college chefs to claim the prestigious title of College Scholar and a £2000 first prize.
Under the watchful eye of Gordon Ramsay and fellow top chefs the contestants had two and half hours to cook a Hake dish followed by Apple Tarte Tatin.

Adam, 23, is a final year student on the College's Culinary Arts Management degree programme. His other prizes include a week's work experience at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant in London, a set of knives and a chefs jacket. For the College Adam has also won the opportunity to take nine fellow students and a lecturer to a Ramsay restaurant for lunch and tour of the kitchens plus a set of signed Gordon Ramsay books.
Adam, who is originally from Swansea, said: "Becoming the Gordon Ramsay College Scholar is fantastic and I am absolutely delighted. It was nerve wracking cooking in front of the crowds at the Good Food Show but I enjoyed the challenge and stayed focussed. Gordon and the judges were really encouraging and I have made some great contacts for the future."
Bill Farnsworth, Director of Catering at the College said:
"Adam is a dedicated and talented young chef who performed exceptionally well under pressure. His links with Gordon Ramsay will undoubtedly give his career an enviable start and act as an inspiration for other young chefs. Our congratulations to Adam for all his hard work.".
