Prize handed over to new student

Lisa Spink receives her prize from Dave Luke and Gary WoodOne lucky student has received an extra welcome to the College by winning a prize draw organised for this year's new arrivals.

Lisa Spink, who has just started on the College's BSc (Hons) Sports Therapy programme, was presented with a Personal Digital Assistant handheld computer by Vice-Principal Academic Dave Luke and director of Sports Therapy and Salon Management courses Gary Wood.

Students were entered into the draw during Welcome Week, which took place at the end of September, when new arrivals on the College's degree programmes were given important information about their courses and the student support on offer.

This year, for the first time, new students could choose their induction sessions from a number of different times, rather than having to follow a set timetable, and once they had been to six of them, they were entered into the draw for the PDA.

Lisa, from King's Heath, said: "I wanted to study Sports Therapy and chose this College because of the quality of the facilities, which were the best I'd seen.

"During Welcome Week, we were given a lot of useful information, which will help during my course, and it was good to be able to come along when it was convenient for us."
