Visitors get free hair treatments
Students on the College's hairdressing courses showed off their skills to members of the public at a Black Hairdressing Open Day, organised as part of Black History Month.
Around 40 visitors came to the College's salons during the course of the day, to be treated by students on the College's NVQ Hairdressing programmes.
They were able to receive a range of free treatments designed for those with black and curly hair - including blow-drying, perming, conditioning, relaxation techniques and consultation. There was also a display stand and free samples from hair care products supplier Avlon.
Hairdressing lecturer Marie Thomas said: "We had a good number of people, of different ages and different hair types, and we were busy throughout the day.
"Lots of the people who came in said they liked the atmosphere and how they were treated, and said they would definitely come back for treatment again.
"I know the students also enjoyed today, and it was a great experience for them to deal with such a large number of customers over a full day."
The College's hair and beauty salons provide treatments to members of the public at great-value prices throughout the year - call 0121 604 1020 to make an appointment.
