Students put artwork on display

Students Sarah Harrison and Kate Bishton with some of the artArtwork produced by students on the College's childcare courses went on show for fellow staff and students to see this week.

Those taking part in the CCE and DCE programmes need to produce various creative displays during their studies, in preparation for the kind of activity they would need to carry out in a childcare or early years teaching role.

Over the course of the last year, they have produced items including wall posters, masks, illustrated books and three-dimensional models.

A selection of this year's work was put on show for the College’s external verifiers to see on Tuesday, and will remain in place for the rest of the week.

Lecturer Jackie Gallagher said: "Some of the artwork the students have produced this year has been fantastic, and it's so important that they get experience in this type of creative play, which is a big part of keeping children amused.

"The College has given us a lot of help and support by supplying us with artistic materials, so we'd like to say thank you by giving people the chance to see what we've produced."
