Success recognised at ceremony

The achievements of students on the College's further education programmes were recognised at an Awards Ceremony this week.

The ceremony consisted of a drinks reception in the Brasserie bar, before the awards and evening meal in the Atrium restaurant. The theme was Stars of the Past and Stars of the Future - the future being a reference to our prizewinners and the past being the Hollywood stars whose pictures adorned each table.

The meal was prepared by chefs on the College's NVQ Chef Catering course and served by BTEC National Diploma in Hospitality students. It consisted of pea and mint soup, followed by supreme of chicken duxelle, white wine cream sauce on wholegrain mustard crushed potatoes, then rhubarb crumble tart with custard sauce.

After a welcome and introduction by Deputy Principal Ray Linforth, the awards were given out by Vice-Principal Academic Affairs Dave Luke, lecturers and representatives of the various firms who had sponsored the prizes.

Sponsors included L'Oreal, Dermalogica, City & Guilds, Masterfoods, Worshipful Company of Bakers, Early Years Ambassadors, Hays Education, Calderfields Golf Club and Kidstaff.
