Fashion show wows the audience
Guests at the Jam House were treated to a spectacular fashion show, which showed off the creative and business skills of students on the College's HND Salon Management programme.
The hairdressing class organised every aspect of the show including choreography and styling, finding models, selecting a venue and fulfilling health and safety requirements.
The event, titled Vivacity, consisted of several themed sections - Animal Kingdom, Super Heroes, Futuristic/Millennium/Angels, Bollywood, Spring/Summer, 1980s Disco and Dream Girls/Glamorous.
A large crowd, including many of the stylists' family and friends all enjoyed the show, which was hosted by Sacha Brooks from Galaxy FM, with music from DJ Chuck Taylor.
The students were marked on the success of the show itself, and also the individual roles each of them played in organising the event.
Lecturer Nikki Brydon said: "It was a fabulous end to a great two years with this group - they really put a lot of work into it, and it showed.
"They said organising the show really brought together all the management skills they'd learned as part of the course over the past two years, and allowed them to put those skills to good use."
The group finish their studies at College next week, with only their exams to follow. Some of them will return next year and transfer to the final year of the BA (Hons) Business Enterprise degree, while others are planning to go into the industry.
