Students receive awards in Hong Kong

Students celebrate their graduationThe College recently held its biannual Hong Kong graduation ceremony, with 80 students receiving their awards at the prestigious J W Marriott Hotel.

A number of College dignitaries flew out for the event, including chair of the College Corporation Nigel Moss, deputy chair Ingrid Philip-Sorensen, Principal Eddie McIntyre, Vice-Principal David Luke and International student admissions manager Sarah Chiu.

The main speaker for the event was James Lu, chief executive of the Hong Kong Hotels Association, who spoke about the growth in the tourism industry, both in the region and internationally.

After the ceremony, the graduates gathered for a celebratory buffet with their family and friends. This was followed by a dinner for former students who graduated from the College between 1985 and 2000, to mark the launch of the Hong Kong Alumni Society.

The group has been set up to help former students from the Hong Kong area to keep in touch, and has so far attracted 95 ex-graduates to join. The first chair of the group will be Joanna Law.
