When You Arrive

Once you have made the decision to study at UCB, obtained your visa (if necessary) and arranged your travel to Birmingham, you can relax and leave the rest to us.

On arrival at Birmingham International Airport you will be given a warm welcome by representatives of the College and guided to your accommodation. Please note this Meet and Greet services is only available at certain times. Please see our Meet and Greet page for more information.

UCB has a long tradition in receiving international students and fully understands the whole range of practical tasks that need to be attended to in those first few days of living in a new city. Whatever your problem may be, we can provide the solution.

You will be given expert advice in how to open a bank account, where to find your nearest supermarket, where to find students who speak your native language, how to visit places of local, cultural interest and even where to find an adaptor for your electrical appliances if they do not conform to the UK norm.

Why not get a head start on your fellow students by attending the 1-week orientation programme in the early part of September? This course is specifically designed for International students who are not accustomed to the challenges of academic study in the UK and all the tuition is free of charge.

From the moment that you set foot in the UK's second largest city, your individual needs, whether academic, social or practical will be given our fullest attention.
