Tuition Fees General Information

General Information

No full-time home or EU undergraduate student will have to pay fees before they start college or university or whilst they are studying - unless they wish to do so. Instead students will be eligible for a fee loan from the Student Loans Company (SLC) to cover their fees.

The SLC will pay the student's tuition fees directly to their chosen HE institution on their behalf. Students are then required to repay these loans, via the Inland Revenue, once they have graduated and are earning in excess of £15,000 per annum

Alternatively, students may choose to pay their tuition fees whilst studying.

Each college and university in England is allowed to vary the fees they charge new students, up to £3,290 per academic year (for the 2010/11 academic year).

Tuition fees at UCB

At UCB, we will charge home and EU students an annual tuition fee of £3,290 per academic year (for the 2010/11 academic year) for all full-time undergraduate programmes, including foundation degrees. The fee for year 0 entry is £1,310.

Home and EU students undertaking full and half-year industrial placements (for example all undergraduate hospitality programmes) will not be charged a tuition fee for the placement period.
