UCB Standard Tuition Fee Waiver

In each academic year:

  • 300 UCB Standard Tuition Fee Waiver awards - £1000 discount off the cost of full-time undergraduate or PGCE tuition fees, for each year of study Note: does not apply to full year placements for which there is, in any case, no tuition fee.

Selection Criteria for Undergraduate Students

UCB funds all of these Standard Tuition Fee Waivers.  You must be eligible to receive funding from Student Finance England and your household income (as calculated by Student Finance England) must be £16,000 or below. Please note that if you are in receipt of a National Scholarship Programme award you will not be entitled to the UCB standard tuition fee waiver in the first year of your programme as well. However, if your household income remains at £16,000 or below for the remainder of your course you would receive the UCB Standard Tuition Fee Waiver for the subsequent taught years of your programme (note: the Standard Tuition Fee Waiver is not available for students repeating study).

Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught programme at UCB and the chosen programme must be a foundation or bachelors degree.  You must NOT be studying an equivalent or lower level qualification than one you have already achieved. 

Selection Criteria for PGCE Students

UCB funds all of these Standard Tuition Fee Waivers.  You must be eligible to receive funding from Student Finance England and your household income (as calculated by Student Finance England) must be £16,000 or below.  Note that the Standard Tuition Fee Waiver is not available for students repeating study.

Applicants must have accepted an offer of a place on a full-time taught PGCE programme at UCB.  You must NOT be studying an equivalent or lower level qualification than one you have already achieved.

Applications Procedure

Do not complete the UCB scholarship form. Instead, applicants must complete the Student Finance England online application form, using their household income, which is administered by the Student Loans Company at www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance. There are no other means of application for this fee waiver scheme.

The Student Loans Company will provide this information to UCB and we will automatically assess each application for eligibility for the UCB standard fee waiver.

Application Dates

The earliest of applications (via Student Finance England) is recommended.
