What will you study?

This programme aims to enhance individual business management potential by developing knowledge and skills enabling students to both identify and respond effectively to the wide ranging opportunities and threats in future tourism business environments, whilst developing an appreciation of the multi-disciplinary approaches usually required in the sector. Students study 6 modules, with a strong emphasis being placed on the role of communication and creativity in effective management practice, together with an awareness of contemporary issues. The opportunity to pursue specific research interests is provided through the completion of a dissertation for the Masters award. A key feature of the programme is the ‘live industry project’, undertaken overseas during the programme for an external organisation, the undertaking of which involves students directly applying skills and knowledge developed in the programme. Previous students have successfully completed projects in Malaysia, the Gambia and the Azores (Portugal).
