MA / PG Diploma Marketing Management for Events, Hospitality and Tourism
This programme is targeted at those seeking to develop a career in marketing in the fast moving events, hospitality and tourism industry. In this dynamic and highly competitive business environment organisations need to stand out from the competition and generate better profits or higher visitor numbers through action-oriented marketing plans and strategies.
The focus on the programme lies in effective marketing management practices, involving studies in consumer awareness, marketing planning techniques and the use of integrated marketing communication strategies. Students study the operational aspects of effective marketing, along with the strategic considerations as encompassed within marketing plans.
Marketing techniques are studied within the overall context of events, hospitality or tourism activity and future trends in these industries, although many of the techniques studied are generic to any service based industry.
The programme is targeted both at those whose previous studies or industry experience includes marketing as well as those whose previous qualifications are not related to marketing.
Induction Marketing Course:
For those who had not studied marketing in their previous qualification and / or do not possess industry experience of marketing, there is a requirement to undertake a short intensive marketing course of two weeks duration in the induction immediately prior to the commencement of the programme. This intensive course will cover essential marketing concepts and principles.
