Professional Studies in Community Family Support FdA
The programme has been designed to reflect the Children’s Workforce Development Council (CWDC) definition and role profile of the Family Support Worker (FSW). This is a comparatively new role. FSWs may be found working in a wide variety of settings for example; children and family centres. They are increasingly employed by non health or social services related organisations such as housing associations and registered social landlords.
The learning objectives for the programme have been mapped against the National Occupational Standards for Work with Parents at Level 4, as well as those for Family learning, both of which are endorsed by the Sector Skills Councils.
This programme has been designed in close consultation with Gateway Family Services CIC; a regional trainer of family support workers and a community interest company.
