Junior Academies
University College Birmingham supports and administers the Junior Chefs Academy and the Junior Bakers Academy (sponsored by Warburtons).
The Academies are run twice a year, in September/October and January/February for Year 10 and 11, they run on a Saturday over 8 weeks between 9am - 1pm.
There is no cost to the academies, but if students want to take home the products they have made there is a £2 - £3 charge for ingredients.
At the end of the Chef Academy, on the final Saturday students will prepare a presentation lunch for parents and invited guests and a guest chef will be there to present participants with a certificate. Students attending the Bakers Academy will prepare a buffet meal for parents and invited guests and are presented with a medal and certificate.
