Sports Therapy BSc (Hons) / FdSc

Sports Therapy is becoming increasingly popular not only in the treatment of sporting injuries but in part of the development of the health and fitness industry.  The demand for well qualified practitioners continues to grow.

These specialist Sports Therapy Degree and Foundation Degree Courses integrate academic learning and the development of practical skills to an advanced level.

University College Birmingham has an extensive range of resources including fitness testing equipment, electrotherapy equipment, anatomical models, gym and a dance studio as well as two purpose built sports therapy clinics and a science room.

The Sports Therapy Clinic is staffed by Degree and Foundation Degree Sports Therapy students and is open to all members of UCB and the public.

The full BSc Sports Therapy course is recognised by and leads to membership of The Society of Sports Therapists.  There is a strong emphasis on practical experience and a range of activities that encourage understanding of the scientific principles, business and developments in Sports Therapy.

Career opportunities exist within health and fitness clubs, the leisure industry, with local authorities and health clubs, sports injury clinics, health farms and as self employed sports therapists.
