International Tourism Management BSc (Hons)
Tourism is a global growth industry and the School of Recreation, Sport & Tourism is a leading provider of innovative undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in tourism, with a national and international reputation.
This degree focuses on the planning of tourism activity, through analysing the impacts and management of tourism activity through a social science perspective.
The School enjoys excellent links with the industry and funds residential field visits in the UK and overseas during the first two years so allowing academic theory to be explored in practice.
Working with a tourism organisation, Students undertake a live marketing project as a compulsory part of their programme whilst opportunities also exist to undertake an optional 48 week placement.
Opportunities exist to take modern language studies throughout the programme, whilst a host of overseas international study exchange programmes exist in Europe, South East Asia, Australia and the USA for which students are eligible.
Former graduates of the degree and foundation degree courses are employed in national tourist offices, as planners, in destination marketing organisations, as consultants and in the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibition sector.
