Hospitality with Events Management BA (Hons) / FdA
Meetings, conferences, conventions, exhibitions and events form a core business segment for many hospitality organisations. Ranging from hotels through to specialist conference and event venues, a management role in this sector is challenging but potentially very rewarding.
The Hospitality with Events Management Degree and Foundation Degree courses reflect the varied nature of the work carried out by Venue Managers; the degree courses have been designed to develop knowledge of the events sector, an understanding of its client groups and an ability to meet the challenges of managing in an events environment.
Both the FdA and the BA include a compulsory 48 week placement.
FdA students spend Stage 1 at UCB, Stage 2 on placement, returning for the final stage of their studies.
BA students spend Stage 1 and Semester 1 of Stage 2 at UCB followed by a year of placement returning to UCB in Semester 2 of the third stage.
A wide range of diverse career paths are potentially open after completion of these degree and foundation degree course, within hotel, business centre, conference, convention or exhibition organisation. Alternatively graduates may look at working as a specialist event organiser.
