Hospitality and Tourism Management BA (Hons) / FdA

Tourism and Hospitality are inter-related global industries, providing services which cater to both the business and leisure tourist. Accommodation facilities, food and beverage products and conference, exhibition and event facilities form an increasingly important part of the overall tourist experience.

The School of Hospitality, food and Events Management is a leading provider of contemporary Degree and Foundation Degree courses hospitality and tourism management. The School specialises in offering vocational courses that develop the technical skills and knowledge alongside business acumen for management careers in the hospitality and tourism industries.

Students have access to industry standard facilities such as the college's two restaurants and opportunities exist for students to travel overseas and participate in funded projects and exchange programmes.

Both the FdA and the BA include a compulsory 48 week placement. 
FdA students spend Stage 1 at UCB, Stage 2 on placement, returning for their final stage of studies.
BA students spend Stage 1 and Semester 1 of Stage 2 at UCB followed by a year of placement returning to UCB in Semester 2 of the third stage.

Advancement for graduates in these industries can be rapid. Diverse career opportunities are available across the wide spectrum of the hospitality and tourism industry and in sectors such as Conference and Exhibition Management, Attractions Management, Resort Management and Development, Destination Marketing and Travel Services Management.
