Level 3 Diploma Theatrical Special Effects, Hair and Media Make-Up
Course Content
This hands on course covers the requirements for the application of specialised make-up and artificial hair for theatrical and media purposes. It covers every aspect of advanced make-up techniques for film and television work, as well as for stage, display and other media purposes. It involves basic hairdressing, media make-up, wigs and postiche, character make-up and special effects.
Assessment
Assessment will be done in a realistic working environment, this will include shows and competitions as well as theatre productions, students will therefore need to be prepared to take opportunities where they arise and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Progression to Higher Education
Students successfully completing Level 3 can progress on to the Foundation Degree or Degree in Specialist Hair and Media Make-up, Salon Management, Sports Therapy or Spa Management with Hospitality, all available at UCB.
Career Opportunities
On completion of this course you could enter employment in the television and film industry or become a freelance make-up artist.
