Professional Cookery NVQ Level 3
Course Content
This advanced course is designed to further your existing catering skills and develop your ability to work under pressure and as part of a team. You will also gain customer care and craft skills and valuable hands-on experience.
Assessment
As with all NVQ programmes, you will be assessed on a continuous basis within a realistic working environment. You will also be required to produce a portfolio of your work.
Career Opportunities
There is a growing need in the catering industry for well-trained Chefs. This qualification could lead to excellent opportunities in hotels, restaurants, welfare catering companies, or even working on luxury cruise liners.
Progression to Higher Education
On successful completion of the programme students can progress onto a Foundation Degree Programme in a relevant subject.
Year 10 and 11 pupils interested in a career in professional cookery have the chance to take part in a Junior Academy.
