Food Preparation and Cooking NVQ Level 2

Course Content

This course delivers the practical skills and knowledge you will need to work successfully across all areas of the food service industry. You'll also gain valuable hands-on experience serving customers in UCB's two restaurants which are open to members of the general public.

Additional Qualifications Gained

  • NVQ Level 1 Food and Drink Service
  • CIEH Level 2 Food Safety in Catering

Assessment

As with all NVQ programmes, you will be assessed on a continuous basis within a realistic working environment. You will also be required to produce a portfolio of evidence to be certified by your assessors.

Career Opportunities

On successful completion of this course, you could find employment in hotels, restaurants and licensed premises, including pubs, wine bars and theme restaurants.

Year 10 and 11 pupils interested in a career in professional cooking have the chance to take part in a Junior Academy.
