Level 3 Diploma Professional Bakery

Course Content

This programme further develops students' skills and knowledge to an advanced level, specialising in a range of bakery products and chocolate work.  Opportunities also exist for research into further specialist production.

Assessment

Students will be required to complete written exam questions for underpinning mandatory unit. In addition assignments and practical exams must be completed for each unit. 

Career Opportunities

Opportunities at this level could include Test & Development Baker, Technical Representative, Quality Controller, Research and Development and even self-employment.

Progression to Higher Education

On successful completion of Level 3 students can consider joining a Foundation Degree in Food and Consumer Management, Hospitality Business Management or Culinary Arts Management, all available at UCB.

Year 10 and 11 pupils interested in a career in bakery have the chance to take part in a Junior Academy.
