Bakery NVQ Level 1

Course Content

This course is designed to provide opportunities and enable students to gain an understanding of the bakery industry whilst developing bread and cake-making skills. Students also develop strong practical skills in cake decoration and sugar flowers.

Assessment

As with all of our bakery programmes, you will be assessed on a continuous basis, within a commercial bakery environment.

Career Opportunities

With the bakery, confectionery and patisserie industries enjoying a new boom, completion of this award could lead to employment with a commercial bakery or a fine confectionery manufacturer or a career within the hotel and catering industry.

Year 10 and 11 pupils interested in a career in bakery have the chance to take part in a Junior Academy.
