How to recruit a student

University College Birmingham is located at the heart of Birmingham, offering both Further Education and Higher Education vocational courses.

Our students are equipped with both the academic knowledge and expertise along with practical employability skills needed for industry. Most courses provide industry placement experience; so that our students are already equipped with the skills desired by employers.

UCB Job Shop

If you are an employer looking to recruit within one of these areas, here at UCB we offer a completely free service to employers wanting to recruit students on either a part time, full time, casual or graduate level basis.  

To do this you will need to register onto our Job Shop, your vacancies will then be forwarded to a member of the Careers Team who will view and approve the positions.

What happens with your vacancy?

Your advert will be placed onto our notice-board and onto the student website UCB Online. The advert will remain for a 4 week period unless you contact us to say that the vacancy is filled. After 4 weeks the advert will automatically be removed. If you want to renew the advert, just let us know.

How else can the Job Shop and the Careers & Employability Centre help employers?

You may also be interested in promoting your vacancies further to students through other free services we offer employers:

  • You may hold an employer recruitment day in the Careers & Employability Centre
  • Attend Recruitment Fairs
  • Deliver employer presentations
  • Participate in Employability Workshops
